The Best AI Search Visibility Trackers for Small B2B Businesses

ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini are recommending vendors before buyers ever hit your site. We compared four trackers small B2B marketing teams can actually afford, HubSpot AEO, Peec AI, Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit, and Otterly.ai, on published pricing, engine coverage, and what a 5-to-30-person team can act on in a week.

The verdict

For most small B2B marketing teams, HubSpot AEO is the AI search visibility tracker we'd start with. At $50 a month for 25 prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, it's the cheapest standalone tracker with continuous monitoring, prioritized recommendations, and a free one-time Grader you can run before you pay anything. Peec AI is the stronger pick if you need multi-engine tracking with unlimited team seats and daily updates, and Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit is the obvious add if your team already runs on Semrush. Otterly.ai's $29 Lite plan is the lowest published entry price in the category, but the Standard tier jumps to $189 the moment you outgrow 15 prompts. A small team should run one of these, not four; the point is to see where you're being left out of AI answers, then go do the content and PR work that puts you in.

This guide is for the small B2B marketing team, five to thirty people, one or two flagship domains, a marketing lead or founder making the call, that has started to notice prospects saying "ChatGPT recommended us three companies and you weren't one of them." That's the job to be done: know which buyer prompts an AI assistant is answering with your competitors' names, know which sources those answers are citing, and get a prioritized short list of what to fix, publish, or earn next.

We evaluated the tools by studying current official pricing pages, product documentation, and vendor-published feature lists in September 2026, then scored them on a documentation-and-pricing rubric. We didn't run a hands-on citation-tracking bench here; the scores below reflect what each product publicly commits to and how well the plan structure fits a small B2B team, not measured accuracy of the underlying data. Where we cite a price, a limit, or a feature, the source is linked at the foot of the page.

How we tested

We compared four AI search visibility trackers on their published, self-serve entry plans against a small-B2B use case: one flagship domain, one marketing lead, a small prompt set, and the three or four AI engines a US B2B buyer actually uses. We weighted engine coverage and pricing transparency most heavily, then per-prompt cost at the entry tier, team-seat policy, and how actionable the output is out of the box. Scores are out of 100 and reflect the desk rubric, not a hands-on measurement of citation accuracy.

Engine coverage at entry tier

We recorded which AI answer engines each product's cheapest self-serve plan tracks without add-on fees. The four engines we cared about for a US B2B buyer are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Gemini; Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude were noted separately since coverage there varies. Any engine gated behind a per-engine surcharge on the entry plan was counted as not included.

Pricing transparency

We checked whether every plan on the product's own pricing page has a public monthly price, whether the entry plan requires a demo or sales call, and whether the real all-in cost (extra seats, extra domains, extra prompts, per-engine add-ons) is stated on that same page. Products with a published entry tier and a stated add-on price scored higher than products that hide either behind a sales conversation.

Per-prompt cost at entry

For each product's cheapest self-serve plan, we divided the published monthly price by the number of tracked prompts included at that tier. This is the cost of monitoring one buyer question, once, on the vendor's default schedule. It does not include per-engine add-ons.

Team-seat policy

We recorded how many users each product's entry plan lets you add without an extra per-seat charge, since a five-to-thirty-person B2B team typically needs at least the marketing lead, one content owner, and a founder or executive sponsor in the same dashboard. Unlimited seats scored highest; per-user fees on the entry plan scored lowest.

Actionability of the output

We read each product's own documentation and pricing page and recorded whether the entry plan ships with prioritized recommendations, citation-source analysis (which URLs the engine cited), and a competitor share-of-voice view, as opposed to a dashboard that ends at a chart. A product that tells you what to do next scored higher than one that only tells you where you stand.

Fit for a small B2B team

We assessed whether the product's positioning and plan structure fit a 5-to-30-person B2B business (a single domain, one marketing lead, a modest prompt set) or whether it was clearly built for a Fortune 500 or an agency portfolio. Products with an entry tier that starts working the day you sign up scored higher; products whose useful features sit behind a custom-priced enterprise contract scored lower.

86 / 100

The cheapest standalone AI search visibility tracker with a free one-time Grader in front of it, and a plan structure that reads like it was written for a small B2B team.

Best forSmall B2B marketing teams that want continuous tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini for a flat $50 a month, with a free Grader to justify the spend first.

What we liked

  • The free AI Search Grader runs a one-time diagnostic across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini with no account required, so a founder can see whether AI search matters for their category before paying anything.
  • The paid AEO product is a flat $50 per month ($45 on annual billing) for 25 prompts across all three engines, with prompt visibility, citation analysis, competitor share of voice, and prioritized recommendations included.
  • It works whether or not the site is hosted on HubSpot, and no additional HubSpot subscription is required to buy it standalone.

What to know

  • Coverage is limited to ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. If your buyers rely on Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, or Claude, you need a different tool or an additional one.
  • The entry plan is 25 prompts; small B2B teams tracking a broad product line will hit that ceiling and need to buy more, and HubSpot's own materials note most teams expand the prompt set over time.

The strongest all-round tracker for a small B2B team that wants multi-engine coverage and unlimited seats without a per-user tax.

Best forSmall B2B teams that need ChatGPT, Perplexity, and either Google AI Overviews or Gemini in the same dashboard, plus a data export and MCP connector for building custom reporting.

What we liked

  • The Starter plan includes three AI engines of your choice (from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, and Google AI Overviews), unlimited team seats, prompt suggestions, GEO recommendations, and data exports.
  • Peec AI MCP is available on every paid plan at no additional cost, so a small team can connect its visibility data through MCP to automate a weekly report without waiting for an API contract.
  • Agency-style multi-brand tracking is a first-class part of the pricing rather than an enterprise-only feature, which matters for a small B2B business that runs a parent brand plus a couple of product sites.

What to know

  • Engine coverage on the Starter tier is 'three of your choice,' so tracking four engines side by side means moving up a plan or paying for extra models.
  • The Starter plan is capped at 50 prompts and one project, so a small B2B tracking multiple product lines or brands will need to move up to Pro or Advanced.

The right AI visibility tracker only if your team already lives inside Semrush; the standalone math gets uncomfortable fast.

Best forSmall B2B teams already paying for a Semrush subscription who want AI-answer tracking on the same login as their keyword research and site audits.

What we liked

  • Priced at $99 per month per domain for one domain and 25 tracked prompts, with prompt tracking across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot mentions in the same dashboard as an AI Search Site Audit.
  • Bundled inside Semrush One alongside the classic SEO toolkit, which is convenient for a team that would otherwise pay for both separately.
  • The AI Search Site Audit's AI Search Health widget flags technical blockers that stop AI bots from crawling the site, a concrete fix list rather than just a score.

What to know

  • Additional domains, additional prompt packs, and additional user seats on the standalone toolkit are each billed on top, and a Semrush One team seat starts at $45 per user with AI Toolkit access adding another $99 per user; the bill compounds fast for a multi-brand or multi-user setup.
  • There's no free trial for the standalone AI Visibility Toolkit, so you commit to a month to see whether the data is useful for your prompts.

The cheapest published paid entry in the category, with a real feature set at $29, until you outgrow 15 prompts and hit the $189 wall.

Best forSolo B2B marketers and very small teams validating whether AI search demand is real for their category before committing to a bigger tracker.

What we liked

  • The Lite plan is a published $29 per month for 15 tracked prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot, with daily tracking frequency, 50-plus country support, and 1,000 GEO URL audits.
  • Unlimited team members on every tier, including Lite, which is unusual in a category that usually charges per seat.
  • The GEO URL audit is a well-built list of what to fix on a page (crawlability, structure, AI-readiness), which gives a small team a concrete first work stream.

What to know

  • The step up from Lite ($29 for 15 prompts) to Standard ($189 for 100 prompts) is roughly a 6x price jump, and a small B2B tracking a handful of product lines will hit the Lite ceiling quickly.
  • Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Claude are paid add-ons on every self-serve tier, $9 to $439 per month per engine depending on plan, so 'four engines for $29' is only true if the four you want are the four included.

If your team has fewer than five buyer meetings a week and no one has yet said “the AI told me about a company that isn’t you,” you probably don’t need any of these tools this quarter. The reason to run an AI search visibility tracker is that it’s already started happening: prospects are showing up on discovery calls with a shortlist that came out of ChatGPT or Perplexity, and you can’t see what’s on it.

Who this is for

This guide is for the marketing lead or founder at a small B2B business (roughly 5 to 30 employees, one or two flagship domains) who has to make a decision this month: is AI search visibility worth a line item in the marketing budget, and if so, which tool. It isn’t written for Fortune 500 buyers or agencies running twenty client accounts; the specialist enterprise platforms in this category are legitimately powerful, but they’re priced and packaged for a different customer. If you’re weighing whether AI-cited coverage even matters for your category, start with the free Grader described below and skip the paid tools until it earns the spend.

Our pick: HubSpot AEO

The reason HubSpot AEO wins here’s boring and specific: the plan structure matches the shape of a small B2B marketing team’s actual problem. HubSpot lists AEO at $50/mo ($45 when paid yearly), with no additional HubSpot subscription required, and the plan includes prompt tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, brand visibility and citation analysis, competitor share of voice, and prioritized recommendations for what to do next.

There’s also a free trial covering 25 prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini with no credit card required, and after the trial you continue at $50/month for the same 25 prompts and same three engines with no interruption to your data.

Two things make it the right start for a small B2B team specifically. First, HubSpot puts a genuinely free one-time Grader in front of the paid product. AI Search Grader is a free one-time diagnostic that scores your brand and returns a snapshot of how ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini currently represent you, while HubSpot AEO is an ongoing monitoring tool that tracks visibility across specific prompts, compares competitors, and delivers prioritized recommendations at $50/month. That two-step ladder, free diagnostic followed by a cheap continuous tracker, is what a small B2B founder needs to justify the spend to themselves.

Second, HubSpot is explicit that the tool works regardless of your stack. AEO tracks how your brand appears in AI answers regardless of where your website is hosted. A small B2B on Webflow or WordPress gets the same product a HubSpot customer does.

The honest limits: coverage stops at three engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini), which is fine for most US B2B buyers today but leaves Google AI Overviews, Copilot, and Claude out of the picture. And 25 prompts is a starter budget, not a long-term one. Most teams expand their prompt set over time to track more of the prompts that matter to their business, and you can purchase additional prompts at any time with no limit to how many you can add.

The runner-up: Peec AI

Peec AI is the tool to pick if you want multi-engine coverage and unlimited team access from day one. The Starter plan includes 50 prompts across three AI models of your choice (from a menu that includes ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and Naver AI), unlimited users, daily tracking frequency, and one project, with prompt suggestions, GEO recommendations, and CSV exports.

The under-appreciated feature for a small team is MCP access. Peec AI MCP is available on all paid plans today with no additional cost and no enterprise tier required; most tools that offer this kind of data connectivity gate it behind expensive API plans, and Peec doesn’t. That means a two-person marketing team can wire visibility data through MCP into their existing tooling and get an automated Monday brief without paying for a dedicated integrations engineer.

Peec also publishes agency pricing separately, so if your small B2B is one of several brands a partner agency is tracking, the packaging is designed for that from the start rather than bolted on as an enterprise concession.

The Semrush-native option: AI Visibility Toolkit

If your marketing team already pays for Semrush, adding the AI Visibility Toolkit as a $99/month module is the lowest-friction way to get AI-answer tracking into a workflow that already exists. The toolkit does Prompt Tracking to monitor your visibility for specific, high-value prompts on platforms like Google AI Mode and ChatGPT, and an AI Search Site Audit with an AI Search Health widget that flags potential blockers so you can ensure your site is fully accessible. The price is $99 per month, and there’s no free trial.

The reason it isn’t higher on this list is math. In a corporate account with multiple users, access to the AI Visibility Toolkit can be shared across your team by adding another license ($99) for each subuser on the account, and additional domains or locations for Brand Performance can be purchased for $99 each.

Semrush positions the AI Toolkit as a premium add-on at $99 per month per domain, and for multi-brand teams the cost compounds quickly because each domain needs its own subscription; adding a teammate to a Semrush One plan starts at $45 per user, and giving that teammate access to the AI Toolkit features costs an additional $99 per user. For a lean B2B team with two domains and two teammates, you’re at HubSpot AEO’s price times six before you’ve tracked a single extra prompt.

Semrush One bundles the SEO and AI Visibility toolkits into three subscription plans (Starter, Pro+, and Advanced), which automatically increase your prompt tracking limits, and can make more sense than the standalone add-on if you don’t already have a Semrush subscription, since it folds classic SEO in.

The cheapest published paid entry: Otterly.ai

Otterly is the tool to consider if the question is genuinely “does AI search matter for us at all?” and you want to answer it for less than lunch. Otterly.ai prices its three plans by prompt volume and audit limits, and the four base engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot) and unlimited team members are included in every plan; Lite is $29/month for 15 tracked prompts and 1,000 GEO Audits a month, Standard is $189/month for 100 prompts with Agent Analytics, API and MCP access, and 5,000 GEO URL Audits a month, and Premium is $489/month for 400 prompts.

The $29 plan is a real plan, not a decoy. But the ceiling arrives fast. Otterly.AI’s Lite plan at $29/mo gives you 15 prompts and 1 workspace, and the next tier up, Standard, is $189/mo for 100 prompts, a 6x price jump for any team that needs more than a handful of prompts tracked.

The other detail worth flagging is engine coverage. Four engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot) are included by default; adding Claude, Gemini, or Google AI Mode costs $9 to $439 a month per engine, depending on tier. If Gemini is one of the engines your buyers use, factor the add-on into the real monthly bill.

How to choose between them

The decision tree is short. If AI search is a brand-new line item and you want to validate it before spending anything, run the free HubSpot AI Search Grader once, decide, and stop there if the report is fine. If you decide to pay, start with HubSpot AEO at $50 a month unless one of two things is true: you need more than three engines side by side (in which case pick Peec AI), or your team already runs on Semrush and would rather have one login (in which case add the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit). Otterly’s $29 tier is the right answer only for a solo operator tracking a handful of prompts as a diagnostic.

Whatever you pick, treat the dashboard as a to-do list, not a scoreboard. Every one of these tools tells you where you stand; none of them writes the content, earns the third-party citation, or fixes the schema that would change the answer. If your week is already full, and for most small B2B founders it’s, that gap is where the work actually happens. Reviewing tracker data next to your monthly customer-getting rhythm (the same rhythm you’d use to plan a podcast guest push, a corporate gifting campaign for target accounts, or a prospecting outbound cycle) is what turns a visibility score into pipeline.

Frequently asked questions

What's an AI search visibility tracker, and why does a small B2B business need one?

An AI search visibility tracker runs a set of buyer prompts through AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini on a recurring schedule and records whether your brand is mentioned, where it ranks against competitors, and which URLs the engines cited. For a small B2B business, the reason to run one is straightforward: prospects are increasingly asking those engines for vendor recommendations before ever visiting a website, and if your brand isn't in the shortlist, you lose the moment of choice regardless of your Google rank. The tracker doesn't fix the problem; it tells you exactly which prompts to fix and which sources to earn a mention in.

Do I need to pay for one of these on day one?

No. HubSpot's free AI Search Grader gives you a one-time diagnostic across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini with no account required, and it's the sensible first step before paying anything. Run it on your brand and one or two competitors, read the report, and only pay for continuous tracking if the gap is real and worth watching over time. If it's, HubSpot AEO at $50 a month is the lowest-friction next step.

How is this different from a normal SEO tool?

Traditional SEO tools measure whether your pages rank in a list of blue links; AI search visibility trackers measure whether an AI assistant actually names your brand when a buyer asks a question. This is a different signal moving on a different timeline, since the set of sources an AI answer engine cites can shift week to week. You still want an SEO tool for the traditional channel; a visibility tracker is a second, complementary layer for the AI answer channel.

Which one should an agency-managed small B2B pick?

If the small B2B is managed by an outside agency, Peec AI or Otterly.ai are the natural fits because both are built for multi-brand tracking (Otterly has an Agency Partner tier, and Peec AI publishes separate agency pricing for managing multiple client projects). HubSpot AEO is priced per brand, which is fine for the business itself but can add up for an agency running many small B2B accounts.
